I graduated from Indiana University in December 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. My work experience includes the areas of Med-Surg, Critical Care, Recovery Room, Medicare Part B, Disease Management, and Pharmaceutical. I hold certificates in Clinical Research and Legal Nurse Consulting. Since 2009, I have taught for prelicensure LPN and ASN programs in Med-Surg, Pharmacology, and Fundamentals. In May 2010, I graduated from Indiana State University with a Master's degree in Nursing Administration. In 2012, I began employment in the BSN department at ISU teaching Leadership, Community Nursing, Capstone, and Med-Surg clinicals. In December 2012, I received a Post-Master Certificate in Nursing Education. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Health Sciences degree at ISU. My dissertation topic will cover disaster nursing and Community Health curriculums. My research interests are Simulation, Disaster Nursing, Technology in nursing, and Diabetes. I am the former president (2012-2014) and current vice president of Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing Lambda Sigma Chapter and have dual membership in Alpha chapter. I am a member of the Morgan County Medical Reserve Corp. (MRC) and the Clay County POD team. I am currently a member of the Indiana State Nursing Association (ISNA) Political Action Committee (PAC). I am married with two sons, ages 12 and 24. I have a five year-old grandson. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, reading mystery novels, and scrapbooking.
